Arghya Deb Sikder

Competitive Programmer · Math Lover · Video Editor

Solving Problems with Mathematics, Code, Intelligent Engineering and AI.

I bridge the gap between abstract theory and physical tech. I started out pushing my limits in competitive programming and mathematics, and my passion really clicked when I brought that logic into embedded systems and robotics. I love building high-performance software that directly interacts with the real world.

// About Me

Powered by Logic, Driven by Curiosity

I'm Arghya Deb Sikder, a Computer Science & Engineering undergraduate who fell in love with problem solving the day a for-loop first obeyed me. Since then, that same curiosity has pulled me across three worlds that rarely meet: competitive programming & mathematics, embedded systems & robotics, and video editing.

In contests, I chase the feeling of an Accepted verdict earned by the right insight, not brute force. As a math lover, I enjoy the elegance behind every algorithm. That discipline of thinking in complexity budgets and edge cases carries directly into my hardware work, where a robot doesn't forgive sloppy logic: PID loops, interrupt timing, and sensor noise all demand the same rigor as a rated round.

Video editing is where the engineering brain meets the creative one. Editing videos taught me pacing and how to communicate ideas clearly — skills that make my technical work clearer too.

What makes me different is the loop between these worlds: mathematics sharpens my algorithms, algorithms make my robots smarter, and video editing makes my engineering understandable. My goal is to grow into a research-minded engineer building intelligent physical systems.

Competitive Programming & Math

Aiming for rank #1: relentless solving, a deep love for mathematics, and a battle-tested C++ template library.

Embedded & Robotics

Worked with Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, STM32, and various sensors and actuators to build autonomous systems

Video Editing

Editing clean, high-energy videos with beat-matched cuts, color grading, and sound design.

Future Goals

Research in intelligent robotics and sharing what I learn along the way.

// The Journey

From first loop to autonomous robots

The beginning

Learning Programming

First lines of C, discovering that logic, patiently arranged, becomes the power.

Hardware era

Arduino Projects

Blinking LEDs became sensors, servos, and eventually a 2D pen plotter that can do my assignments for me.

Contest era

Competitive Programming

From Beecrowd to Vjudge and Codeforces 500+ problem solved!

Research & exploration

Early-stage undergraduate research.

In progress

Adaptive Line-Following via Self-Tuning PID Control

Problem

Fixed PID gains fail when track curvature, surface friction, or lighting changes — robots need re-tuning by hand.

Methodology

Empirical gain-scheduling: profile the error signal in real time and switch between tuned parameter sets.

Hardware

Arduino-class MCU, 8-sensor IR array, N20 gear motors, custom driver board.

Software

C++ firmware, interrupt-driven control loop, serial telemetry logger.

Future work

Port the controller to a learned policy and compare against classical tuning on benchmark tracks.
